0 – Reserved for the truly bad, a grade that doesn’t get handed out too frequently since I’m not actively trying to seek out crap to depress myself with.

1 – Not necessarily horrible, just not that notable and at least a slight waste of time.

2 – Not bad, not good and not the best use of time.

3 – A decent song, differentiated by four tiers of ascending goodness — 3 +, 3 ++, 3 +++, 3!. If you want, 3 + is good, 3 ++ noticeably good, probably grabs your attention when played in the background, 3 +++ very good and gets you going, 3! really good and a no-brainer for personal playlists.

4 – Great

5 – Exceptional
